Description
There is a quiet grace in the image of men wrapped in their tallit, standing together at the Kotel in shared devotion. In “Threads of Time: Tallit and Tradition”, I took this classic scene and gave it a fresh, modern edge — balancing tradition with contemporary aesthetics, spirituality with style. The figures stand in a natural rhythm, shoulder to shoulder, their tallitot flowing like threads connecting them to one another and to generations past.
Created in acrylic on canvas, this piece measures 100×80 cm | 39×32 in, giving it a commanding yet intimate presence on any wall. The colour palette is restrained yet sophisticated — soft neutrals, muted earth tones, and subtle warm accents that let the forms and textures speak for themselves. There is an understated elegance here that rewards a closer look, revealing layers of detail and emotion.
I love exploring the intersection of sacred imagery and modern art. The tallit, for me, is one of the most beautiful symbols in Jewish life — a garment that wraps you in faith, that physically connects you to something beyond yourself. In this painting, those threads become the threads of time itself, linking past, present, and future in a single, graceful composition.
This original painting by Chaya Koritz, created in my Jerusalem studio, is a meaningful addition to any Judaica art or Jewish art collection. It brings warmth, depth, and spiritual resonance to any space. I invite you to explore more of my work or contact me directly for inquiries about this piece.
