Description
The Beit HaMikdash lives in the heart of every Jewish soul — not as a memory, but as a longing, a vision, a promise. In “Where Time Stands Still: A Vision of the Beit HaMikdash”, I painted that feeling of sacred yearning, blending architectural majesty with an ethereal, almost dreamlike atmosphere. The structure rises with quiet grandeur, its presence both grounded and otherworldly, as if it exists in a space between history and prophecy.
Created in acrylic on canvas, this piece measures 80×120 cm | 32×47 in, giving it a commanding yet intimate presence on any wall. The palette is deliberately soft — muted golds, pale stones, and gentle blues — to convey a sense of holiness and peace. The layers build upon one another, each one revealing new depth, much like the layers of meaning held within the Temple itself.
As a Judaica artist based in Jerusalem, I feel the absence of the Beit HaMikdash deeply. It is woven into the prayers, the songs, and the very air of this city. This painting is my way of honouring that collective longing — of giving form to something that transcends the physical world and lives in the realm of faith and hope.
