The Kotel has been painted a thousand times, but it has never stopped surprising me. In “Golden Moments at the Wall”, I wanted to reimagine this iconic place with warmth, texture, and a touch of contemporary energy. Rich, golden tones and layered brushwork bring the ancient stones to life, filling them with a glow that feels both sacred and inviting. There is always something new to discover as your eye moves across the surface.
Created in acrylic and goldleaf on canvas, this piece measures 100×150 cm | 39×59 in, giving it a commanding yet intimate presence on any wall. I played with light and shadow to create depth and dimension, so the painting reveals different details depending on the angle and the light in the room. The gold leaf accents shimmer and shift, adding a sense of movement and life that keeps the composition fresh and engaging.
What draws me to the Kotel again and again is its ability to hold so much — so many prayers, so many tears, so much hope — within its ancient stones. Each visit gives me something new, and each painting I create of this sacred site reflects a different facet of that inexhaustible depth.
